Project Description
EnergyLink Services was engaged to develop a Net Zero Carbon Action Plan for MAMS Group that outlined their carbon emissions and map out the steps they needed to set goals and targets with a view to reaching Net Zero Carbon Emissions. Our team based on the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGERS) framework and the Australian Government’s Climate Active Carbon Neutral standard to establish MAMS emissions boundary and emission inventory, which along with our engineering experience we established MAMS pathway to Net Zero Carbon.
The plan established by EnergyLink Services to MAMS is comprised of four key steps: defining the strategy, setting targets, implementing carbon reduction initiatives, tracking progress against the targets.
The project identified initiatives MAMS Group had undertaken to date and planned activities, such as:
Undertake an annual a carbon inventory and baseline and track performance over time;
Identify, evaluate and implement initiatives to enable fuel consumption reduction;
Renewable energy solutions (incl. solar PV);
Complete fleet electrification as technology becomes available; and
Undertake route optimisation initiatives.
Key Results
Developed a Net Zero roadmap to MAMS to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2030 that included:
A GHG emissions baseline.
Identification of (12) key energy and GHG emissions reduction opportunities.
Defined GHG emissions reductions strategy including a marginal abatement cost (MAC) curve and a Net Zero waterfall chart.
Mapped GHG emissions reduction opportunities.
Timebound GHG emissions reduction targets.
Measurement and monitoring plan.
