Project Description

EnergyLink Services supported Accredited Person Sigma Global in the implementation and registration of a biomass boiler project under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. The project enabled the generation of VEECs using a Measurement and Verification (M&V) methodology and replaced LPG consumption with renewable biomass while maintaining reliable poultry farm operations.

Key Results

· Technology Implemented: 1.2MW Biomass boiler system

· Application: Space conditioning (hot water heating for poultry sheds)

· Scheme: Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) – Project Based Activities (M&V)

· Certificates generated: ~3,500 Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs)

· Certificate revenue: ~$275K

Overview

EnergyLink supported the implementation and registration of a 1.2MW biomass boiler system at a broiler farm under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program. The project replaced LPG with renewable biomass, reducing energy costs and emissions while maintaining reliable thermal energy for poultry operations. The project is expected to generate approximately 3,500 VEECs, delivering around $275,000 in certificate value through a robust Measurement and Verification (M&V) approach.

1.2MW of biomass capacity, ~3,500 VEECs, and roughly $275K in certificate revenue. EnergyLink's M&V approach turned an LPG replacement project into a measurable, high-value outcome.
